A team of business-minded students from Moor Park showcased their entrepreneurial prowess recently by winning the prestigious "Young Entrepreneurs 2012" competition.
The event, which was hosted by Preston College and the Lancashire Evening Post, required students from across Lancashire to demonstrate their commercial acumen by developing an enterprise initiative.
The idea for the initiative had to be presented to a "Dragons' Den" style panel of judges, including the Editor of the Lancashire Evening Post, the Principal of Preston College and Preston entrepreneur Kirsty Henshaw.
Representing Moor Park were Aiysha Adam-Gavar, Humairaa Madari, Fatima Patel, and Khadieja Patel. Their prize-winning idea was "My Canvas" which is a personalised art canvas service allowing people to buy works of art with tailored inscriptions.
The team performed tremendously during their presentation, making a highly persuasive business case for their idea. Six teams from schools across the county competed for the accolade of "Young Entrepreneurs 2012", but it was Moor Park who ultimately triumphed.
Saalihah Adam was highly commended with her business idea, Oh So Smoothie.
The winning team won £300 and a trophy in recognition of their outstanding work. Everyone at Moor Park congratulates them on their success.
