World Book Day


5 March was World Book Day and a group of Year 7 pupils went to Preston North End football club to take part in a literary extravaganza.

Six top children’s authors took to the pitch to talk about their books to an audience of five thousand school children from across the North West.

Cathy Cassidy, Danny Wallace, Frank Cottrell Boyce, Jonny Duddle, Cressida Cowell, and Steven Butler all spoke about writing for young people, what inspires them and how they got into writing. Each author read extracts from their new books.

This was the largest celebration of World Book Day ever to have taken place in Preston and it was a wonderful experience for our Year 7s to have been part of
