Congratulations to Year 11; the 2015 GCSE results have provided a bumper year for A*/A grades!
Students in Moor Park have achieved fantastic results individually. In particular nine students obtained 5 or more A*/A grades and fourteen were awarded 3 or more A*/A grades. Overall just over 30% achieved at least one A*/A grade within their results making this a bumper year for A*/A grades.
The Senior Assistant Headteacher, Uzma Ishtiaq said, how pleased she was to see so many of our students achieving A*/A grades even though it more difficult to achieve these top GCSE grades this year. "Having a sixth form helps to motivate students as they realise how important their GCSE grades are for continuing their education post 16".
Seven students from the group who all achieved 5 or more A*/A grades in Moor Park receive their results in front of the new sixth form.
Overall the school results are well above the Government’s ‘floor-targets’ and they reflect all the hard work to ensure 100% of students achieve five or more GCSEs.
The Headteacher, Peter Cunningham commented that he was delighted for the students and very proud of their achievements. "I am pleased with our results overall given the recent changes to GCSEs in line with the government’s aim to raise standards. As a result the pass mark is rising and this highlights how well our students have responded."
The number of students making 3 or more levels of progress in Maths and English from Key Stage 2 to 4 has increased reflecting improvements across all abilities.
